The 2020’s Fashion Decade Begins…

Crisp white shirts by Foxcroft, with a Joseph Ribkoff striped blouse shown in the centre – don’t ever need ironing.

The research and new technology that’s come along in the past 20 years is paying big dividends to consumers starting off this decade. If you hate ironing as much as I do, you’ll appreciate the many wrinkle free fashions available.

New fabrics, environmentally friendly detergents, shorter gentle-washing cycles all contribute to saving cost and the environment. Dryers use only low heat and mother nature is drying our clothes when we ‘hang to dry’. This is all enhancing the effort to save our planet.

Softworks’ spring collection offer a rainbow of colors in dresses and sleeveless, short-sleeved or long-sleeved tops. How refreshing, and great choices. SoftWorks is made in Canada. The rayon fabric is a natural product, breathable and very practical for warmer climates. Their soft, comfy pants which come in petites would be ideal for travelling.

Q. & A.

Q. I like to wear the comfortable, flowing styles but feel they sometimes make me look heavier and don’t show off my figure. Can you tell me how I can have a little of both in the same outfit?

A. For a different look you could belt your top with an ‘Unbelt’ available in many colors. These belts are completely adjustable and stretchy so you can still be comfortable. If the top is long enough, try knotting it at one side and let it drape up at an angle (a great look). The t-shirt clips are back in style, which can be used to clip your top in the middle or on the side. You can still show off your fabulous curves and be comfortable.
