Fall Happenings, Store Events, and Extended Hours!

So here we are in fall! Wow, what a summer we’ve had. Hot and dry but beautiful sunshine. But it’s been nice to have some rainy days of late though, nice to see the green grass again. And of course it’s fun to bring out some of the fall fashions, be able to put on a pair of ankle boots or a cute new sweater. On that note, if you’ve been in the store lately you’ll know we’ve had a steady stream of fall fashions arriving. Fashions to dress up, dress down, and everything in between. We are not known for a small selection!    And to further your shopping opportunity, we have extended our hours. We are now open Thursday and Friday until 7 pm. Ana and Nancy are happy to be here for you.

Other exciting news is that we are hosting two events in October!  October 8th from 6 to 9 is Lookin’ Beautiful! An evening of makeup how to’s. Many of you attended our “Women of Today” event with Louise Otto. We received so many kudos about that very special evening of advice on how to dress for today’s lifestyles. Our next in this series is on make-up and how to look the very best we can!

We are excited to have Meghan McGuigan here for an evening of instructions, guidance and fun! Meghan founded MakeupandMeg in 2005. She had worked in Montreal before moving to Edmonton to attain her Bachelor of Education. She continues to grow her company with clients like Lululemon, CTV Edmonton, Poppy Barely and the Government of Alberta. Meghan writes her own beauty column in Beauty Bliss Magazine and most recently was featured in FASHION magazine.

“I am excited to teach a 45 minute make-up class at Close To You for every day women! In this class you will learn simple trips and tricks keep your makeup lasting longer, help you look your best, create a stronger brow, find the perfect products and colors for your skin type/tone, colors that make your eyes pop and how to turn your day time look into an evening look. I can’t wait to meet you all, and help get you glammed!” says Megan.

This is a ticketed event but your $25 cost will be redeemable on any fabulous fashion finds valued at $50 or more at Close to You, valid until October 15th.

We are thrilled to again have Louise Otto joining us as well, offering some great advise and input on fashion looks! Two fabulous women ready to give us some timely fashion advise!

And if that wasn’t enough, Thursday, October 15th is Sympli Smashing! From 6 to 9 enjoy Sympli fashions including a fashion show! As an extra bonus, Shapeez will also be joining us to show you how to compliment your fashions with some easy wearing control garments. Sympli and Shapeez have been working together on some of their styles to make their clients look their absolute best. Suzanne of Shapeez will also be joining us direct from Toronto.  She will be showing us how this great camisole bra and slip bra line can compliment your Sympli fashions.

On the 15th we will have models show us the many ways we can complete a fabulous wardrobe. We will show you how to mix and match the wide selection of styles, have some fun and maybe push yourself to a look that you always knew was you! As an extra bonus, we will have some special pricing on our “in store” Sympli for the evening. And wear your Sympli and enter to win a Sympli gift certificate! We are fortunate also to be able to keep the Sympli selections being sent to the store for the week of the 13th thru the 17th for some extra time for you to peruse the additional styles available.

Phew, that’s a lot of things going on and I haven’t even covered everything! I’m going to leave it at that for now as I’m sure you have other things to get to, but check back to keep updated and/or like our FB page to stay even more up to date. Sandy posts regularly on FB and all events and many of the new arrivals get put on there. Being subscribed to the newsletter is also a great way to stay current.
