Large Business of Year!

Sandy, Gil, and the staff at Close To You were honored to win the Parksville & District Chamber of Commerce Large Business of the Year for 2016 at Tigh-Na-Mara! From an employee of 1 (Sandy!) in a tiny 800 SF lingerie shop, to 15 employees, a main store of over 4200 SF, an outlet, and having added ladies fashions, footwear, and accessories – who knew what was ahead for Sandy and Gil when they started out over 25 years ago! What an adventure it’s been!

Here’s Sandy at her first store in Parksville – the tiny 800 SF lingerie store. Can you believe Sandy owned three successful bike stores for years before trying her hand at lingerie? She even put the bikes together and did repairs herself! From bikes to lingerie – who would have thought?! 

And now, 25+ years later… An amazing success story of passion for business, commitment to the community, hard work, dedication, and sacrifice. Time flies when you’re having fun!
