A Note From Sandy

A Note From Sandy

Life is sure different right now!

As the owner of this fabulous business I thought I’d take the time to answer some of your questions here and let you know how we are doing.

I get asked these questions every day. Questions like... Are you OK? How are you doing? Are people coming into the store? And usually followed up with… We’re so glad you are open!

These are all fair questions. They show that you care, that we matter to you. I can’t tell you how much this caring means to all of us at the store.

To start, at the beginning, those first few months were definitely tough. As a pretty ‘together’ person who has made decisions all her life, I didn’t have any answers for this one. There wasn’t too much that I had control over. Wow, there actually wasn’t anything I had control over.

What I did learn, though, was to take one day at a time. You’ve heard it before - yesterday is yesterday, today is now, tomorrow isn’t here yet, so don’t worry about it. Easier said than done, but at least it sounds good.

We were actually closed for a few weeks at the start of the pandemic and then, slowly but surely, I started to open. It was by appointment at first, only a few days a week, four hours a day.

My daughter, Kim, and I worked on our website, building it up, adding more styles and taking pictures. I was learning what made a good pic and what didn’t. I participated in more workshops on "how to’s" than I ever want to again. Instagram classes, Facebook classes, stress classes…my head was spinning!

I started doing my videos then too. They were my life-line and I heard from so many of you that you loved “tuning” in to see what I would talk about. Kim gave me my own You Tube channel! Check it out here! The videos were quite a learning experience for me. I'm sure you can imagine. You told me I got better as time went on…lol! Who knows, maybe my next career will be this, hey? 🤷🤣

Before totally re-opening, we made the store safe and secure with Gil’s wonderful help, and then officially re-opened the store near the end of May, complete with sneeze guards, hand sanitizing stations, scaled-down changerooms, and lots of rules.

And now, here we are. It’s nearly the end of October and we are making our way through it.

Fall at Close To You

We have the French Dressing Fit Clinic planned for next week and a Frank Lyman Trunk show for the 12 & 13th of November.

FDJ Fit Clinic

We have amazing support from so very many of you and it is continuing to grow with your help and assistance. Orders are coming in, some of our brands are a little challenged with supplies, but all in all, everyone is positive and looking forward to a new day….us too.

Anyway, I hope you enjoyed this little glimpse into what life has been like for me and us here at Close To You over these past months.

I hope you are all doing as well as can be, dealing with our new world as best you can.

Take care, stay happy, stay healthy and remember….we love you!
